I am currently reading a book That deals with rejections that we may experience in life. Whether they are rejections from family, friends, relationships or self rejection. This book encompasses a lot of current situation that I'm currently dealing in my own life. As I'm reading this book what I see as I'm reading it's a lot of self reflection of painful memories that have happened in my life. .Whether it's events that happened at home or at school. I reflect and I see my younger self and think back to how those experiences made me feel. And there's nonfiction book I actually Have had to stop in the middle of a paragraph several times not because the text was difficult, but because the text is so profound to what I am currently facing in my personal life, that I stand back and self reflect on how I am responding to rejection. Depending on the genre that I read (for example, self help books) I often feel empowered and understood as i'm reading these type of texts. It makes me feel like it's okay to not be okay sometimes, even if it doesn't feel okay at the moment.
On the flip side, as I'm reading fiction books I have always felt that my mind travels to another world. Growing up I used to love books based on dystopian society's and I could honestly feel like I was walking step in step with the main characters. Something about an alternate universe is some thing that comes to mind a lot. It's as if I'm watching a movie or I'm watching the sad of this movie partake. I can imagine the background of these scenes as futuristic, metallic and full of technology. The way that a picture characters in a dystopian society is often in a mono-chrome uniform with high technology watches and futuristic transportation devices. Is there a read through the style of books I often thought about how our worlds would ever reach to this point. A point where people are heavenly manipulated by a government and everything of every day life is regulated by it. Although it may instill some fear, I know that at the end, the curiosity is what keeps me continuously reading these style of books.
