Folklore

The two folklore pieces that I have chosen the folktakes of La Llorona . The story of La Llorona del with a beautiful woman that was married to a rich man. However, she was cheated on and out of anger and spite, she threw her kids into a river and let them drown. As soon as she did it, she regretted her decision and died of sadness. Now many people claim to hear her at night crying out for her children near the rivers. The illustrations in the story depict how she looks like, and the illustrations
also help paint a better picture of how the story played out. Overall, this is a very common folklore spoken about in Mexican and Central American tall tales.

The second book that I chose was about how werewolves come to be. Is this book, it is written from the point of view of a warewolf, and how he is different than the Bad Wolf in the Little Red Riding Hood. .The illustrations in this book depict how many people perceive the werewolf, and in actuality the werewolf in this book is trying to explain himself as to why even though he is more dangerous, he's not as bad as people make him come out to be.

These books are similar in the sense that the werewolf and La Llorona are feared upon many people. Also, both of them come out only at night and they make sounds that can be heard that makes people know that they're around.
